J’Anna spent her childhood growing up at the funeral home’s 110 Limerock Street location. Some of her earliest memories include helping her father dust furniture, wash cars and shadowing him throughout the day, always curious about what he was doing, and who he was helping.
She graduated from Rockland District High School in 1997. She attended the University of Maine at Farmington, earning a bachelors degree in Early Childhood Special Education. After marrying her high school sweetheart, Andrew, they moved to Bangor where she was employed at United Cerebral Palsy (UCP), where she taught a preschool classroom for children with emotional and behavioral disabilities.
After living in Bangor for three years J’Anna felt the overwhelming pull to be home on the Mid-Coast; and to be with family. She began working full time at the funeral home in 2001. With her fathers’ guidance and assistance she enrolled in FINE Mortuary College in Massachusetts, graduating in 2003.
She and her husband live in South Thomaston with their sons, Walker and Cole. They have been open and honest with them and are bringing them up in the family business much the way she was.
Becoming part of the Mid-Coast community again has been their focus, and she is honored to serve the families of our area.
